Picture yourself in the middle of a boardwalk made of brownstone extending for miles in both directions.  Now, if you will, walk in one direction.  At different intervals of the brownstone walkway, picture stone steps (ghants) leading down to the river.  Put those two pictures side by side, and you'll have an idea of the celebrated "Varanasi Ghats."  One hundred of these "ghats" line the Western bank of the Ganges River.  Read more....
